This Internet of Things (IoT) LoRaWAN MACRO Access Point/Gateway is specifically designed for long range wide area (LPWAN) applications. Applications include, but not limited to automatic meter reading, monitoring fault indicators, smart street lights, smart parking, smart waste collection, tracking devices, environmental monitoring, etc.

The LoRaWAN technology is designed to connect low-cost, battery-operated sensors over long distances in harsh environments that were previously too challenging or cost-prohibitive to connect. Because of its long range, high penetration, high sensitivity capabilities and its ability to connect many end-devices, it is a much more cost effective way for service providers to deploy LoRaWAN network for sensor applications in vertical market domains than any other methods (e.g. cellular, short range standards, etc’)..

LoRaWAN Network Server (Network Management, Device Activation and Data Routing System)

The Gemtek GIoT network server, following LoRaWAN specification, provides a unique integrated architecture with compliant interface capabilities in a larger network deployment. At the heart of the GIoT System are the critical functions of LoRaWAN Data Routing System and GNMS Network Management System. GIoT System is a ready, complete and scalable architecture and is already in commercial use in numerous deployments.

Gemtek GNMS, a powerful network management system that allows the network administrator to control, configure and monitor the deployed LoRaWAN gateways and devices all over the world. GNMS is a robust, scalable, secure, easily-manage, carrier-grade and cost-effective network management solution offering feature-rich functionalities, including fault management, configuration management, security management, Firmware OTA updates, performance management and online status monitoring. It initiates messages / alerts for faults or user-defined logs (including SMS or email), archives all communication with GWs and may set scheduled maintenance jobs on the entire network or a group of GWs. The GIoT GNMS realizes the “zero-configure” for the LoRa gateways and minimizes operational cost for the operator.

The LoRaWAN Data Routing System is one of the cores of the GIoT System. LoRaWAN gateways are connected to the Data Routing System via standard IP connections and secured protocols. The Data Routing System authenticates and manages the messages from gateways and dispatches the raw data to customer’s application system. The Data Routing System works to process messages, manages the raw data and replies acknowledgement with commands when necessary. The Data Routing System is also responsible for activating devices (provisioning). It manages a message archive and includes APIs for billing system and application servers through standard protocols/interfaces (e.g. RESTful, MQTT, AMQP).
